History

Established by a legislative act in 2006, the Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise (LITE) Commission was created as a political subdivision of the State of Louisiana to develop, operate, and maintain the Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise business.

In January of 2018, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette absorbed the management and operations of the LITE business. This has opened numerous resources and opportunities not only for LITE advancement but the local community as well. The Office of the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Economic Development plans to continue the established success of LITE and amplify its mission and reach nationwide.

Since its inception, LITE has continued to use its expertise in visualization, software engineering, animation, serious gaming, and e-learning to provide innovative solutions for many business and academic needs. From interactive training simulations to providing advanced visualization ideas and support, LITE is committed to helping our clients succeed.

We will continue to help businesses think beyond the boundaries of what is and create the next level of what can be.
